Maryland Property Tax Information

The Maryland Department of Assessments and Taxation (SDAT) periodically reassesses real property. If you receive a Notice of Assessment and believe the market value is too high, you generally have 45 days from the date of the notice to file an appeal. Appeals may be submitted online or by returning the appeal form included with the notice.

If you disagree with the initial decision, you may have the opportunity to continue the appeal through the Maryland Property Tax Assessment Appeal Board and, if appropriate, additional review levels.
